Privacy Notice
Last updated October 12, 2026
Short version: UtilgruX doesn't want your data. It was built from the start to work entirely on your Mac. We don't collect, sell, rent or share your personal information. There are no ads, no tracking and no analytics.
What we don't collect
- Your files, documents, photos, videos or music, or their contents.
- Your browsing history, the apps you use, or what's on your screen.
- Your contacts, location, or anything you type.
- Usage analytics, advertising IDs or tracking data of any kind.
Everything UtilgruX does, including previews, the system monitor, window switching, media playback and cleanup tools, happens on your Mac. It isn't sent to us.
Logs, for debugging only
UtilgruX keeps a small log on your Mac (~/Library/Logs/UtilgruX/) to help find and fix problems. It's scrubbed as it's written, so names, file paths, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, web pages and window or video titles are removed. It's capped at a few megabytes, and older entries are deleted automatically.
The log never leaves your Mac on its own. If you choose Export Diagnostics… and send us the report, we use it only to fix your problem, then delete it.
Optional account
You don't need an account to use UtilgruX. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, for example to join the developer program, our account server stores only what's needed to keep you signed in: an account ID, the e-mail address and name your provider shares, which Mac you signed in on, and your developer-program status. We never see your Google or Apple password. Sign out at any time, or ask us to delete your account.
Features that use the internet
A few features connect to the internet only because you use them:
- Public IP in the system monitor looks up your public IP address from ipinfo.io when that item is turned on.
- Media sharing and streaming connect directly to devices and servers you choose, usually on your own network.
- YouTube playback loads videos from YouTube, which has its own privacy policy.
Those services handle requests under their own policies. UtilgruX doesn't send them anything about you beyond what the request needs.
Permissions
macOS asks you before UtilgruX can use things like Accessibility or Screen Recording. These permissions let features work on your Mac, and nothing they reach is collected or uploaded. You can turn any feature off, or revoke any permission in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics or trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may briefly process standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Removing everything
Uninstalling UtilgruX with its built-in uninstaller and choosing to delete data removes its settings and logs from your Mac.
Children
UtilgruX isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this notice changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
